Other People’s Handiwork

I am at the Ultimate Women’s Expo in Phoenix this weekend, at a booth for Second Chance FitCenter. Yesterday was interesting — I’ve never done an expo before — and I expect that today will be more of the same. I have made some contacts and am just generally getting the word out that Second Chance exists. It’s also a great place for people-watching, and there is drama between the employees of the booth next to ours. Nichol has been there with me, which has been a life-saver.

So while I hang out in a 10×10 cubicle again today, you can check out a few links:

Are you enjoying your daily chemical cocktail? from Grist: A well-written (with links to referenced studies) article about the chemicals in our food — and subsequently in our bodies — and how most aren’t tested, and none are tested in combination with others.

Sitting All Day: Worse For You Than You Might Think from NPR.org: In the same vein as this post about health risks of sitting all day, even if you are an after-work exerciser.

The Investment Piece: One Investment That’s No Investment At All from Get Rich Slowly: If you’re justifying expensive purchases as “investments,” you might want to take another look at what an investment is.

The “See-Food Diet” from A Weight Lifted: How to deal with food cravings when they’re triggered by seeing or hearing about the food you (now) want.
