knowing is half the battle

I remember this phrase from G.I. Joe cartoons when I was a kid.

But this is the thing: knowing is only half the battle.

The other half is doing.

You know you need to be less sedentary. Do it!

You know you need to eat more vegetables/less sweets/whatever your modifications happen to be. Do it!

You know you need to get more sleep. Do it!

You know you want to spend less time working and more time cultivating relationships. Do it!

I don’t mean to suggest that you need to make a sweeping revamp of your life in one shot — or that your whole life even needs revamping — but pick something, make a plan, and do it. Do it every day/week (depending on the plan) until it becomes a habit. Then you’ll keep doing it on your own 🙂 Do it today.

There is always an excuse available to start later. And later you will always wish you had started earlier.

Start today! Do it!
