Eating slowly has several benefits.  If you are a fast eater (like I am … sometimes), this tip might help you to slow down.

Between every bite, put down your fork, or spoon, or the sandwich.  Don’t pick it up again until your previous mouthful has been swallowed.  (This also helps you to eat more mindfully.)


There are many ways to help prevent impulse buys when you shop.  Here’s one I employed today.

I went to Target to buy three small things.

Since I was able to carry what I was looking for, I didn’t pick up a basket or a cart.

With nothing to transport stuff in, there’s a smaller limit on what can be purchased.
